The term OEM stands for 'Original Equipment Manufacturer', the exact meaning differs in several industries.
To us, OEM means that the part is the same part used within your device, using the same materials and specifications.
We use the term OEM to cover many parts from refurbished, used and new components, the exact condition will be stated in the items description.
In some cases when the part supplied is made up to several components (for example an LCD assembly) the part may have been assembled by a 3rd party vendor using OEM parts meaning that consumable may differ (such as adhesive used)
Although strict testing procedures are put in place to ensure the quality of the part these testing practices and procedures may differ from the checks manufacturers use.
Any hardware supplied as OEM will not have any quality loss or loss of features and covered under our extensive returns policy.
As in many cases we dont obtain directly from the devices manufacturer, nor in some cases are we affiliated with device manufacturer in any way and they are not involved in the testing or sales process of the component we sell.
The replacement looks to be a genuine part which I finally got round to fitting over the weekend.Care was needed removing the busted screen (very fine glass shards) and removing the adhesive gasket. It would have been good to know the thickness of the old gasket before ordering up replacement adhesive tape. The ACENIX® 4mm black width Double-sided tape I used was a little thin (0.2mm I believe), though slight ridge around the screen was small price to pay for Nexus back up and running. Excellent service from Replace Base and very quick delivery despite the run up to Christmas. Thank you.
This product is bang on! Its a genuine replacement part and was dispatched extremely fast. The only thing I didn't realise about the screen on the nexus is that its glued onto a frame. The dis-assembly was easy enough but getting the old screen off was a bit of a nightmare. Basically used hairdryer to loosen up the glue and basically had to break of the screen in pieces until it was all removed. I cut my thumb so beware of the glass!!! I'd recommend getting some adhesive strips to glue the new screen in place - although i did not do this but found there was enough glue residue to keep the new screen on. Overall an excellent replacement. Easy enough to do if you follow the teardown in www.ifixit.com and my NEXUS is back to the fully functioning beast that it was!! Great price for the screen IMO and the Replace Base service was excellent as usual. Thanks Iain
