Parts Origin - OEM
The term OEM stands for 'Original Equipment Manufacturer', the exact meaning differs in several industries.
To us, OEM means that the part is the same part used within your device, using the same materials and specifications.
We use the term OEM to cover many parts from refurbished, used and new components, the exact condition will be stated in the items description.
In some cases when the part supplied is made up to several components (for example an LCD assembly) the part may have been assembled by a 3rd party vendor using OEM parts meaning that consumable may differ (such as adhesive used)
Although strict testing procedures are put in place to ensure the quality of the part these testing practices and procedures may differ from the checks manufacturers use.
Any hardware supplied as OEM will not have any quality loss or loss of features and covered under our extensive returns policy.
As in many cases we dont obtain directly from the devices manufacturer, nor in some cases are we affiliated with device manufacturer in any way and they are not involved in the testing or sales process of the component we sell.
I agree, when you open the M8 M8s M9 [possibly], it is 'always' advisable to replace the battery too. I replaced a screen in July 2017 + battery [for a customer] but used the M9 which gives you about 10% more charge ... after 14 months I replaced battery again. He is a heavy user and I am sure he overtaken the 300 cycles already. I liked it so much that I purchased a used one for myself - never had a single problem ... yet!
The HTC One series is probably the least user serviceable line of phones on gods green earth. Virtually any replacement of internal components requires the battery to be removed, with plenty of force and patience because you'll have to spudge a soft battery like your life depends on it. Which for a Li battery it kind of does. Since you'll have to remove it anyway, I recommend a battery replacement since you'll have probably gone through a lot of charge cycles at this point if you still have the original battery. Personally I'm saving up for something with a replaceable battery, when I'll "responsibly" "dispose" of this "phone", but if you're trying to prolong the life for a couple of months so you can put aside for the Pro model of your new favourite, then get a battery along with any other component. The battery listed here comes as new, with onboard and external tests showing factory fresh capacity to HTC reported tolerances. Clips onto the mainboard and secured with 2 screws, 1.2mm Phillips, because why use the same screws as everything else? The only consideration is that batteries must be sent by private courier, but honestly it's worth it to get a fresh battery that, when paired with a rooted solution like Greenify, will have your phone running better than new. Just get this battery not a second hand or refurb, not worth saving a few quid against this genuine, new battery.
