Should I replace the battery?

Modern Li-ion batteries have an average life of 12 months before the start declining in performance but can decline if performance much faster if not treated correctly.
Before purchasing a replacement check that no other factors are causing the batteries decline such as:

  • Moving to a low signal area
  • Running background applications
  • Having 3G, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth enabled when not required

How to get the most out of your new battery

  • Try and give your battery a full charge / discharge as often as possible, run the battery all the way down and fully charge - this will help condition the battery
  • Avoid partial charges
  • Avoid constant trickle charges (such as USB charging)

Please be aware that all new batteries need an initial couple of full charge cycles (Full charge / discharge) before reaching maximum performance

HAZARDOUS GOODS: Li-ion batteries are classed as hazardous items and cant be shipped using many postal services such as Royal Mail. We ship all batteries using an express fully tracked specialist company.

I ordered this battery to replace the one on my phone, which had bulged (pushing the back cover off) and was probably dangerous. Removing the remainder of the sticky holding on the back cover on was easy. The old battery was held on with 4 tiny screws which I removed, and it was also stuck to the chassis underneath. Having carefully pulled out the old battery, remembering to disconnect it too, the new battery dropped in easily. Connector provided a positive snap-in. I used some new double sided tape on the underside of the battery to replicate what was there before, and new insulating tape where I'd removed the original stuff. The phone switched on straight away with some charge in the new battery, and connecting the AC adaptor the phone said it was charging so I left it. Battery took a full charge absolutely fine. I've since been running down the battery on purpose using screen-on, Bluetooth on, wi-fi on and FM radio full on into a pair of headphones - just to see how good the battery is. I have to say I struggle to fully deplete the battery even doing this all day - it appears to have an excellent capacity - to my mind even better than the original. A new back seal was also purchase d- now the phone is all back together and cleaned up. I have a brand new phone with an almost inexhaustible battery for a little over a tenner, all in. Wish I'd done this sooner to be honest.
