Parts Origin - OEM
The term OEM stands for 'Original Equipment Manufacturer', the exact meaning differs in several industries.
To us, OEM means that the part is the same part used within your device, using the same materials and specifications.
We use the term OEM to cover many parts from refurbished, used and new components, the exact condition will be stated in the items description.
In some cases when the part supplied is made up to several components (for example an LCD assembly) the part may have been assembled by a 3rd party vendor using OEM parts meaning that consumable may differ (such as adhesive used)
Although strict testing procedures are put in place to ensure the quality of the part these testing practices and procedures may differ from the checks manufacturers use.
Any hardware supplied as OEM will not have any quality loss or loss of features and covered under our extensive returns policy.
As in many cases we dont obtain directly from the devices manufacturer, nor in some cases are we affiliated with device manufacturer in any way and they are not involved in the testing or sales process of the component we sell.
I pulled the remainder of the old rear panel seal off by hand - then cleaned up the plastic using IPA. The white carrier card peals off this new seal first - so you're offering up the blue top carrier sheet with the seal still attached, so the inside face of the back cover, laying flat on a table. I ruined the first one - I lowered the sheet too quickly at one end and it stuck fast to the plastic and pulling it off broken the seal. Luckily I'd bought 2 of them, anticipating I might mess one up. The second one I managed to align my hand and stick it down. Then you pull off the blue top sheet and the case back is ready to stick back onto the phone. I cleaned the frame of the phone with IPA on a cotton bud first. Pressing the back down all round for a minute or so, I found the bond to be very good straight away - it's definitely stuck all the way round and I've probably got my IP rating back again. For something so cheap to fix this ridiculous issue the phones all have - don't wait - go and buy a couple and have done with it. Worth noting that my back had come unstuck because the battery was bulging. ReplaceBase also sell a replacement battery for the Xperia Z Ultra which I bought and fitted first with no problems. If you don't fix the bulging battery problem, it's unlikely the back will stick down properly.
